The ESP LTD Joe Duplantier JD-I Signature is a masterclass in minimalist design and crushing sonic power, built in collaboration with the frontman of French metal pioneers Gojira. Dressed in a striking Silver Sunburst finish, this signature model takes a classic, refined silhouette and packs it with high-performance specs tailored for massive riffs, absolute reliability, and a completely streamlined workflow.
The foundation of the JD-I is a resonant mahogany body that delivers a thick, commanding mid-range punch. It is paired with a bolt-on 3-piece roasted maple neck, providing exceptional stability and an immediate, snappy attack. The Macassar ebony fingerboard features a comfortable 350mm radius, a fast Thin "U" neck contour, and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets for a smooth, frictionless playing surface built to handle a lifetime of touring.
For its signature voice, the guitar is loaded with a single DiMarzio Joe Duplantier "Fortitude" humbucker in the bridge position. This pickup is engineered to handle heavy, down-tuned low end while maintaining crisp articulation, rich harmonics, and a percussive dynamic response. Embodying Joe's no-nonsense approach to gear, the electronics layout is stripped down to just a master volume knob, leaving no obstacles between your hands and your amplifier.

It features a premium Hipshot Tone-A-Matic bridge, which locks to the posts to provide exceptional sustain and a solid feel under palm-mutes. Really, there's no sales tax?
There's no sales tax outside of SC. Since we're a small business, we only have to collect sales tax on in-state orders.

Can I request a setup w/ my preferred strings?
Yes, but that will come at additional charge that varies depending on the guitar. Our Pro-Tech Setup is free for every guitar using its stock strings.

In short, please allow us up to three business days to ship your guitar. We do our Pro-Tech setups right before the guitar leaves us so that it is ready to play once it reaches you. Normally, it only takes a day or two for us to ship out your guitar.
