Full Description
The Schecter Diamond Series Keith Merrow KM-6 MK-III EX Baritone in Satin Black Open Pore is a purpose-built, modern metal instrument designed for crushing low tunings, surgical precision, and uncompromising performance. Developed in collaboration with Keith Merrow, this extended-scale powerhouse strips the signal path down to its essentials, delivering maximum clarity, aggression, and control for high-gain players who demand absolute focus.
At its core is a resonant mahogany body capped with an ash top, finished in a stealthy open-pore satin that lets the natural grain breathe while enhancing resonance. The neck-thru construction with Ultra Access ensures exceptional sustain and effortless access to all 24 frets, while the 28” baritone scale length provides tight string tension and authoritative low-end response—perfect for modern drop tunings and extended-range riffing.
The 3-piece hard maple neck, reinforced with dual carbon fiber rods, is carved into a fast and comfortable Thin “C” profile, measuring just 20mm at the 1st fret and 21mm at the 12th. An ebony fingerboard with a 12”–16” compound radius and 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets delivers a smooth, durable playing surface built for speed, precision, and longevity. Visual details like aluminum offset/reverse circle inlays and Luminlay side dots add both style and practical visibility on dark stages.
Electronics are intentionally minimal and brutally effective. A single Lundgren Black Heaven bridge humbucker provides articulate, aggressive output with exceptional note separation, making complex chords and fast passages stay clear even under extreme gain. Control is handled via a single killswitch, allowing for instant stutter effects and total signal control without distraction.
Rock-solid hardware completes the build, including a Hipshot hardtail bridge, Schecter locking tuners, and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, ensuring outstanding tuning stability and sustain even under the heaviest playing conditions. Factory-strung with Ernie Ball Baritone Not Even Slinky (.012–.056) strings, the KM-6 MK-III EX is ready to deliver devastating tone straight out of the case.
